Unforgettable Events at MU: From Free Charity Raves to Watch Parties

Mississippi Underground (MU) is the place to be! Along with weekly shows, there are two events that I wanted to highlight! The first was the “First One’s Free” shows they are starting to have each month, run by Downright Entertainment and MU. These are free raves that are for a cause. This month’s was to raise donations for the LA Fire Department Foundation.

I liked how the free entry made it super available to people who may not usually listen to EDM. When I was there, I unexpectedly ran into two college friends! It was their first rave, and they said it was really fun!

Super Bowl Watch Party

I also was a big fan of the MU team putting on a super bowl watch party, where the game was played on the big screen. It was potluck style and people could sign up to bring food for everyone! Shoutout to @Demanda Jolene Pickle for the blueberry lemon cake egg rolls! Then the halftime show with the big speakers must have been super cool. I think these events are just fun and other suggestions have been karaoke night and movie nights. Keep an eye out for the next events!
